I've always wanted to do this.  While at a Hot Import Nights show, there was a WRX that while I was looking at the back, the guy flipped a switch and the license plate folded down and behind it were 8 fog lights that pretty much temporarily destroyed my vision.  Maybe you could do something like that.  The other thing I always thought about was tucking them up behind the bumper on something similar to those amp research steps that fold down when you open the door.  Use a switch though or have them come on in reverse.  But this way you would only see them when in use.

Maybe I could mount them on the back side of the hitch and thus they wouldn't be so obvious...as for power to them, i would simply use the F250 upfitter switch for that.  :)

What I have now is 2" so would 2" more really make that big of a difference visually?   hmmmmm something to think about.

Ok, here is what they look like now fully installed in the daytime.   Windy as all get out here today.

I will get a nighttime video tonight to show all the new LED's

JP,
I like the look - particularly the backup lights. Do they make a big difference?

I'm assuming you needed to change the flasher unit out for the tail lights too. Did that go pretty smooth?

The reverse lights look ridiculous.  In a good way.

This video could probably be put in the shameless reflection thread.  Haha.

Here is the night view.

It doesn't even come close as to how bright they are.

I think they do make a difference, very visible.   The back up lights are kind of bright but in a different color temp so it's hard to say.  At night or early AM I still use my 4 back up lights.   Tom I did have to get a new flasher and it took over 10 days to get it but it sure did the trick.  The flaster was easy to get to actually.  That part took less than 2 min....the 10 days waiting for it took the longest.

I have another video of how bright those suckers are

BTW, I also used LED's for the License plate lights

Those sure look great! I don't have too much desire to do anything with the Mazda, but I could sure see myself wanting that for my next vehicle.

Well I finally did it. I broke down and ordered ones for my truck and little escort.  The escort only has a single dome light so that one was simple to buy.  I ordered the map lights and the dome light for the truck.  I figured I'm going to wait to convert the outside to LED's after I see how I like the interior ones.  Ordered from SuperbrightLEDS.com because i could figure their website out easier lol.

great, show us pics....you don't have to tell me that they are brighter in person, it is so hard for cameras to pick up on the LED's even the color temp is way off.   I hear ya on the website...that is half the battle....I hope you have better luck with Superbright than I did.

I wonder how my tail lights would work being that they're sequential turn signals as well.

Edit - I can't even figure out how my bulbs cross reference.  (Edit Again - Apparently Brake/Tail/Turn is LED from the factory.  Explains the weird part numbers.)

JP- I'll get some pictures when I get them put in.  Hopefully it'll be a good experience.  This is my first time messing with LED's so we'll see.

Mike, If you have the sequential turn signals, you already have LEDs.

Yeah.  I realized that.  That's why I edited my post earlier.  However, the rest of the lights are not.  Also, I wonder how the stock LEDs compare to aftermarket LEDs.
