Yes, thanks Doug - and thanks for the well wishes.

RR - I've been trying to come up with something profound to say, but you've left me speechless. So I guess all I can do is offer you an internet handshake.

Thank you everybody - we're both very excited to see where this takes us.

Congrats and good luck.  It's a hard decision to make, and one that has crossed my mind a few times.  I actually spoke with two recruiters yesterday.

Take care and stay in touch!

One thing to remember when you talk to recruiters.  If it is not in writing in your signed contract, it isn't going to happen.  period.

Here's a good place to start for anybody interested in the armed forces.

http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/joiningup/a/recruiter.htm

I read this start to finish about 4 times and made my wife read it before we ever talked to a recruiter. Good information in there.

If you dedicate and devote yourself to your duties half as much as we do here about detailing you will be ok.

Whatever field you pick/get try and think about what it transfers to in the civilian world and take all the classes and schools you can...matter of fact if you can tolerate school try and get them to send you to college while you serve and come back try to order all of us Enlisted retirees around....oh and try to fly something &/or jump out of some perfectly good aircraft if you can.
Remember...you will be young for a little while and then you will be Old? for a long time if you are lucky so do it while you can.
Good luck and we will look forward to your return.
You can make money or you can make excuses but you can't do both.
