Which carnauba do you prefer?
« on: January 23, 2011, 09:48:00 AM »
Just starting off with my detailing obsession so I ask, which carnauba wax do you prefer?

I'll be putting it on top of NXT2.0.

Thanks,

Will

I have a couple that I like to use.

Wet Obsession (By far the easiest one I have used to date)
Meg's #16 (It's a real bitch to work with)
Meg's #26 (Easy to find locally)
Good enough never is

I'm actually a big fan of Collonite 845. Easy on and off with decent longevity - especially on top of NXT.

I use a bunch of different carnaubas.  I like switching them up just because I can.  Out of the more expensive ones I really like Supernatural.  Wet Obsession is very nice and another favorite.  If you don't want to spend a lot but you still want a killer look, you can't go wrong with the Poorboy's Nattys.
If you always do what you\'ve always done, you\'ll always get what you\'ve always got.

I use two on my own vehicles.
Meg's #16 Difficult to work with but last a really really long time.
Natty's Red: Look better that any other wax imho.  Easy on easy off.  Doesn't last that long.

My personal oppinion (and it is just that personal oppinion) I place NXT 2.0 on the same level and maybe a little lower as Turtle wax.  One of my very least favorite waxes.

On Black paint...
For ease of application and cost,
Flitz Speedwax.

For special occasions when time allows...I love DoDo carnaubas
Hard
DoDo Juice Blue Velvet and DoDo Juice Banana Armour
Soft
DoDo Juice Purple Haze and DoDo Juice Orange Crush

Still trying to like DoDo Juice Supernatural but for now it's in 4th place after the others.

Decided to get some M26. I am sure over time I will accumulate many different types of waxes.

This must be the rabbit hole I have been hearing about...  :Old Dogg?:

Yeah, LSP's are definitely a deep rabbit hole.  I have a couple go to waxes.  But have at least a dozen different ones.

That's just insane. Who in the world has time to apply 6 coats of wax?     .......or are you kidding?

You must have missed the discussions about dressing extension cords and polishing snow blowers then. :redneck: And no I am not joking about that either.
