wood products
« on: January 21, 2011, 07:39:57 PM »
I want to sand, stain, and protect a wooden patio bench this weekend.  It's basically a cheap wood/laminate seat with steel back and frame.  Anybody know of a good AIO product I can get from my local Lowe's to stain AND protect it once it's sanded down?

Cabot or Behr are good exterior stains.

I've had good luck with Olympic. I used it in MN, WI and KY both transparent and solid stains.

Cabot all the way. Cabot is oil based and will take a little while to dry but it will hold up to the eliments for years. Behr which I used last year is water based and will last 6-12 months if the weather is good. Cabot cost a little more, about $10 more a gallon but its well worth it.
