Brian, how did you get your truck at Fidelity?

Ok the ocean shot kills me....

I told you guys....he comes up with some cool chit

I figured you guys would hate on me for being anywhere close to the ocean. Don't worry, I thoroughly rinsed  the truck off after, lol

Oha, and the Fidelity building? Easy, I work here.

Which building is that?  and is that a circle drive or did you drive around back?

Ok, so I've been tight on funds lately and have still mot ordered a package like I had intended. I spend an entire day washing, claying, and waxing the truck and it looks great. Still could use some more work because of the ever-so-faint swirling but I'm very happy with how it turned out until I can attack it with some very minor corrective measure.

On that note, I also cleaned and painted the rear axle and suspension components since they are visible because the truck sets up kind of high. This turned out great but I did get some overspray on the rear fender. Clay took it right off no problem (probably helped that it had just had a fresh coat of carnauba the week before) but that led me to my next question.....

Sometimes road contaminants are flung up by the wider tires and can be very stubborn to remove with soap and water but clay takes them right off. Is there any reason why I couldn't clay the truck, or at least parts of it every wash? Every other wash?

Some would say you can clay pretty often (Beachkid excepted), but I'd be a little careful with it. Remember, the pupose of clay is to shear off surface contaminants - and that's a good thing. But if you slip up and don't lubricate the surface correctly, you can make one hell of a mess. I use it once or twice a year on my Oxford White F-150 and that seems to be enough. Other opinions?

Brian

Have you tried using another product to get that junk off like PB Bug Squash?

what are we talking about?  Grease?  Mud, asphalt from breaking loose?

Usually I just have problems with gunk like tar, grease, or whatever gets tossed up from the tires and lands right behind the wheel wells. Bug guts can at time be stubborn as well. I thought that claying would be the preferred method over any kind of chemical (bug and tar remover or the like) or moderate pressure with wash mitt. No?

I would try something like PB Bug Squash on it before I hit it with clay.
