New old guy (with pictures)
« on: October 20, 2010, 11:59:00 AM »
I've been around a while, but life has gotten in the way lately. I originally found the site here from a site I used to be on, F-150online. At the time, I had this:

Then decided I wanted a car, so bought this:

I realized shortly that a truck was much more practical, so sold the Mustang and bought another truck:

That truck was anything but practical, so I opted for something a little different, again:

It soon was obvious once more that a truck best suited me, so I bought another:

I've had the itch for a new Mustang from time to time, but instead I satisfied my need for something fast with this:

I still have the Silverado and the Speed Triple. As I mentioned before, though, life has gotten in the way lately and both could use a complete detail. I'd be embarrased to post pics of the way the truck looks right now. It doesn't need much corrective work, just a serious, serious cleaning. It isn't so much the paint that needs work, but the visible parts of the undercarriage. It sits pretty tall these days (has a mild lift) and the rear axle and frame visible from the back and rear wheel wells is dirty and nasty. Same goes for the front suspension components visible throught the front end and front wheel wells.

I don't have any serious detailing tools, just some basic chemicals and lots of patience. I'll post some pics of the finished product soon. I will be snooping around the forum for the next week or so researching how to go about tackling the truck.

Stay tuned!

First of all, welcome to the site. Many of us started over at that other site, but when the quality of the detailing information started to go downhill, we came over here.

Second, nice vehicles! I think you'll find lots of good information and advice here to keep your stuff looking top notch! Looking forward to hearing more from you.

This is what the hood looked like

After (only half was done) Please note the 6ft step ladder in the top left corner.  Yes I needed it.

silver shameless before it was really shameless.

I fixed a spot on the Green Mustang and man that was a hot car.

Welcome!

Was that a Bullitt?  Just what I needed to see.  More pictures of Mustangs...

Nice vehicles.

I saw that car in person, it was super hot.

Brian brought it over when we were working on the 911's at my bro's....it was cool to have all those nice rigs in the driveway.

BTW, Brian wins on getting cool shots of his cars..  Brian where again is that little bridge you went to?

This one? It's in the Tara neighborhood in Colleyville.

Thanks guys. Its painful looking through these old pictures sometimes :( Sometimes I wish I still had the big truck. The one i really should've kept though was that F-150. Still, I'm very happy with my current truck, just need to get it cleaned up soon.
