half tons don't generally need a pressure that high. they hardly ever have 10 ply tires except for upgraded sizes, so that's why

I had Mickey Thompson MTZs.  They were 10 ply, max 80psi.  I started out running them at 60 psi.  I found the center of the tread to be wearing faster than the outside.  I eventually ended up settling around 40 psi.  Currently run my Cooper Zeon LTZs at 38 psi.  I only ever run really high pressure when I'm towing or hauling heavy loads like with the work truck.  Otherwise, it's just not necessary.

That's good info b/c I figured running half of the max load would wear the tires fast on the outsides but guess not in your case.  Maybe I'm okay at 45 then.  Still think I might keep bump them up to 50 and see how they do.  The majority of Nitto TG owners I've talked to say they are running 50 psi all the way around.  Good info, thanks ESF  :clap:

P.S. I'm doing a 25 mile bicycle ride tomorrow...only telling you that JUST so I could use this smiley  :bike:  First time I've noticed it. :)

I have an 04 4X4 with 127k miles and the only suspension parts I have had to change was shocks.  When I tried to level my truck I didnt like the ride or alignment maybe because of the method of lift used.

From personal observation when my truck is loaded pressures near the max feel solid and stable.  High pressures with no load weight make the ride MUCH harsher...especially with ower profile tire rubber than stock.  If I drive aggressively (corners) with pressures too low, tire edges wear fast. 
I run Cooper Zeons at 45 with no load.  Max pressure loaded is 65. 
You can make money or you can make excuses but you can't do both.
