Question.
« on: March 20, 2010, 03:41:03 PM »
Hey guys, been awhile since I've been on. Today was one of the prettier days here in Kentucky, so I got a chance to wash and clay the truck.

While digging around in my grandfathers garage, I found a brand new Benchtop Random Orbital machine. The pads were brand new and it's never seen power until today.

After claying the whole truck, I then used it to apply some Meguiars wax.

My question is..

Is this thing good enough for paint correction? I don't have the money to spend on some new PC or w/e, I could probably slide getting the m105 and stuff.

Thanks fellas.

Also, here's a pic of what it looks like. Though it's not a Ryobi.

The polisher you are talking about is mainly just for applying and removing wax, it doesn't really have enough power to do paint correction.  You can get good results with M105, but it is going to take a lot of time and a lot of elbow grease!  I would save up for a Porter Cable, it is really worth the investment.

Thanks for the quick reply.

After searching around and a couple sites, I found a local Meguiars G110 for $115. I could probably get it for $100 even. Would that be a good starter DA?

That would be perfect...you found one in one in a store?

Nah, I found it on a local street scene website. I'm not sure what it includes or the hours on it. I'll probably pick it up if he still has it.
