Huge improvement.  They look great.  Nice work.  They look great on the truck too.  What wheels are your 20s?  What about where the wheel weight was?  Did you purposely skip that?

My 20s are Mickey Thompson Classic IIs... They look basically the same, only much bigger and have bigger holes in them.  I did hit where the wheel weights were on the wheels, but the aluminum was so far oxidized that it couldn't be saved without some serious work.  Now that they're mounted the spots don't really stand out, so I'm not too concerned with it.  This time around, I had them put the wheel weights on the BACK of the wheels so not to mess the wheels up anymore (tire guy didn't have anything good to say about stick-on weights).  Like I said earlier, they're in better shape than my factory wheels, so I'm happy.

I figured that was the problem with the wheel weights.  I did my ex girlfriends wheels from her Thunderbird.  They were cleared over the raw aluminum but the clear was shot so I stripped them and polished them out.  The worse spot was where the wheel weights were.  It took a lot of work.  When I had my tires mounted my buddy did it at his shop.  He was able to use stick on weights on one wheel but the others required to much weight to make sense.  I'm ok with it though.

I've always loved the Classic IIs.  I was going to get them but they didn't make them in the right configuration.

I'll have to keep it in mind.  This was all so last minute and rushed that I could only use what I had on hand.

Thanks guys.  And yeah, I love my 20s.  Couldn't beat the price I got them for either.  Just need tires...  :dope:

Awesome work! Now, if you want to get them to look even better, try using a rotary with a polishing pad you don't mind wiping out. I had similar wheels on my 1997 - 2002 F-150s and was able to use the rotary even with the tires still mounted. Yes, I did have to remove the wheels from the truck, but you can actually sling a rotary around inside the wheel pretty well and you just have to use a light touch around the outer lip near the tire. The difference it will make is removing the light swirls you still have between the holes. As good as they look now, they'll look that much better with a rotary.

Thanks...  But that means I'd need to buy a rotary.   :boohoo:  I'll keep it in mind though.  The 20s would be easy with the rotary... Not so sure about the 16s.

I bet a rotary would work awesome with the extension and 4 inch pads.  Anyone know where to get an extension.  I've seen others use them but never saw them for sale.

Believe it or not, I used to polish my 16's with a 6" pad with no extension on my rotary. Yes, one had to angle it in to get the center portion and the lip took some gymnastics, but the results were well worth it. And trust me, I'm not that good!
