The sky is falling
« on: July 20, 2009, 02:07:05 PM »
Had a hailstorm come through.  Told you guys I'd try to get some pictures up.  From my first talks with the body shop he expects progressive to give me all kinds of hell.

Some of the pics are pre wash, some after wash.

Geez, and I thought the standard Ford factory orange peel was bad! If it's any help to you, my experience with Paintless Dent Removal has been all good. Best of luck to you!

That really stinks, man.   :moody:

I witnessed a SOFTBALL-SIZED hail storm in Bowling Green, KY in 2000... you don't really have to worry about the body shop doing much to your vehicle in a storm like that.  Windshields were beaten into the front seat --- it's truly amazing that no one was killed or at least injured by a hailstone falling at terminal velocity from 50,000 feet.

I've been in many hail storms, we are on the 3rd roof in this house since 2003.   The last one we had a hail stone go through the roof, and into our living room.  Then around 100 gallons of water.  we had to get in the attic and stuff the hole to keep the water out...it was a fun time.  Took the GC about 3 months to fix the house wiht the damage etc.  the worst part was in the attic, we were yelling at each other b/c we couldn't hear, sounded like 400 people on the roof hitting it with hammers as hard as they could.

Frustrating as hell to say the least  :bitch:

Just got a call from progressive.  the office in amarillo.  said "I was calling to set up an appointment to get your cars looked at" my reply was "that's fine except that I've been sitting here at home all day waiting for the appointment that I already set up."
Said that the person at the national office set it up at a time or in a way that the amarillo office didn't see it and couldn't have set it up.  Admitted that they screwed up but couldn't do anything about it.  Just said that there will be a person at my house at 10:00 on Wed.
Said that she will assess visual damage and issue me a check for that amount on the spot.  Then if there is aditional damage that needs to be paid for they will issue that check to the body shop after they send the additional damage total to them.

Got a body shop to do an estimate on the truck and it came out to $1,600.

There's an irony to the fact that they use a lizard in their commercials.
