My wife's EXPY is just a bad as all the other's I see on the road...

Wasn't there some pads we could get to make it less crappy?

I want to say that it was the NAPA ceramics that were HIGHLY regarded for being nearly dust free...

Cool...I've never done pads before, seen it done, wondering if I should take that project on.

I'll second the Wagner's, put them on my truck around 50,000 wish I would have put them on the day I bought the truck.

if you wanna take that on ill be more than glad to help, i have all the tools, and i think the EBC brake pads are supposed to be really good about no brake dust, especially the green ones, they are pricey but i hear theyre worth it

I use Hawk and Raybestos.  Semi Metallic.  I haven't had any real problems.  Except I do seem to develop a brake squeal that even when the pads looks brand new.  I always end up changing them out early just to get rid of the squeal.  Actually I might do it tomorrow with my oil and tranny fluids.

EBC will more than likely chew the rotors up.

Going to a less dusting pad is a harder compound, the harder compound until chews the rotors up more

Assuming you have basic mechanical skills, a set of sockets, and a C clamp, you can do disc brakes.

Only basic mechanical skills are required, but if you've never done brakes before, you might want to have somebody who konws what they're doing looking over your shoulder. Remember, your life may depend on your brakes.

PS: I'll vote for the Wagner Themoquiets too. I have them on both front and rear on my 2005 F-150 and couldn't be happier.

Rather than the NAPAs, I believe it was the Carquest Blue that I was thinking of...

Does your truck dust as bad as the wifes Expy? That's one thing I noticed since moving up to the Super Duty, essentially ZERO brake dust. Do they use a different pad material on the SD, or is it just because the brakes are HUGE?

I don't think my truck has breaks.  No brake dust at all.

Maybe better material since it's a heavier truck?

Brakes aren't hard to do. Hell, I think trying to understand all the intricacies of detailing is harder!  :wow: Just don't FORGET the loctite!

Do the wagners help with stopping power? or are they just less dusty?

I never use loctite on my brakes,  Just don't forget the caliper grease or whatever you call it.
