lights for the garage
« on: February 22, 2009, 11:14:42 PM »
I purchased the lights for the garage today.  Now I just need to get my friend over to help me wire them up, so I do not burn down the house.  I got two eight foot sections and two 4 foot sections to make a rectangle.

Awesome, I wired up a few new lights and need to get one more 8 ft'er...wireing up isn't hard...I have to do it to code incase we sell the house.  Which sucks.

We want pics of the install!

I'm in the process of upgrading the lighting in my shop too. There will be six 8', two lamp fluorescents, and fourteen 4', two lamp fluorescents. Should be plenty of lighting.

You never know RR.  :guin:

Seriously though, the main part of the shop is 38x40 and has 12' ceilings. I don't think it'll be too much, but it'll be plenty.  :hs:

I took some time off planning to attend the Texas Supra event with a friend and his supercharged Viper.  He ended up backing out, so I am using the time off to get other things done.  Here are some updates to my lighting projects.

How they came out of the box

Here is the hole to knock out to pass the romex wire

Shot with the hole knocked out

Here is where you ground the unit with the 3 wire romex

Install the receptacles and install the endcaps

Install clip on the opposite end from the tabbed end cover

Turns out the knock out is the center of the fixture on both the 4ft and 8ft

Postioned the car in the garage and taped for position then moved the car out

All mounted waiting to be wired and the covers and bulbs installed

Holes drilled in the drywall to run the romex

The lights are finally done.  The pictures do not do it justice.  The pictures are taken with no flash.  It is just amazing how well lit the garage is now.

JUST GARAGE LIGHTS

WITH ONLY THE NEW LIGHTS

Nice.  Now just put another dozen or so on each wall and you're good to go.   :biglaugh:
