Title: Coronavirus
Post by: Kitzy on March 13, 2020, 09:42:16 AM
I'm curious.  You can't escape it atleast hearing about it.  Have any of you been impacted directly yet?  Have you had to make any changes to your normal life?

With all of the talk about it all over the world, I have yet to hear Canada mentioned even once but maybe I missed it.  Ryan, what it's like to our north?

We have one confirmed case in Rochester, NY where I live. I refuse to panic and buy a 12 year supply of toilet paper, hand sanitizer, etc. Everybody else in this town is losing their minds though. My ex (admittedly a nurse) bought a pallet of hand sanitizer. Do you think that might be considered hoarding? Nah.

Gong show up here. Something like 60 confirmed cases across the country.

People are being idiots and buying 5 years worth of toilet paper and canned food.

Head office has told me no travel and we have a good chunk of employees working from home for the rest of the month. Daycare’s and schools are slowly being shut down and no events or gatherings of more than 250 people.

We were gonna head back home to my Dads at the end of the month, but will be putting it on hold. I don’t want to chance bringing anything to my 94 y/o grandma. Even as slim as that chance may be.

Tom, good call on making her your ex, assuming it was your choice (we will pretend it was either way).  She sounds crazy.

Its pretty mind blowing what people are concerned with buying.  I went to Walmart and then the grocery store today.  I had a specific goal in mind at Walmart but while there I browsed on over to the grocery side and looked at the water.  They have a very long isle completely dedicated to water which was 95% sold out.  Then the toilet paper isle...

At the grocery store, I couldn't help but look at people's carts.  One guy had over 10 laundry detergents.  A lot of old people buying tons of soda.  One lady had a cart full of spaghetti and mountain dew.

There is atleast one confirmed case in our area.

Well things seem to have escalated quickly. Travel lockdown on many fronts and people continue to panic. I have the kiddos this week while the Wife is away on a business trip, it’s gonna be fun to get groceries for next week. May just crack into the freezer stock instead.

There has been people fist fighting over toilet paper.  There was a line outside one of the grocery stores this morning before it opened and when it did, everyone sprinted in.  It's crazy.  Every school in Pennsylvania is closed for 2 weeks causing major headaches for parents who work.

I'm just hoping I don't need to be quarantined for any reason and my job isn't affected.

Ventured back out again today.  I feel like I got my priorities in order.  I bought ammo incase the gun stores close or the craziest buy it out.  They're rationing ammo to people.  Put together a home gym incase my gym closes.  Four counties to the south of us have ordered the closure of all non-essential stores, so everything besides groceries, gas and medical.  So gyms are starting to close.  Picked up some extra meat incase the crazies are still at it next week.  Toilet paper... We buy in bulk anyway so we will probably be alright and if not, I'll just shower.  Problem solved.  I'm sure I can just buy some next week when the shelves are restocked and no one has any news to buy more because they have a lifetime supply at home already.

Funny thing is, everywhere I went was a ghost town today.  Dicks was completely empty.  Grocery stores don't have much stock so no one is there anymore.  Gun store... PACKED!  Haha.  A lot of Asians buying ARs for some reason.  Could really be a Chinese conspiracy.  Haha

Also, as of today, Pennsylvania has 63 confirmed cases out of the 13 million or so people.  But they haven't even tested 1000 people yet.

One of those counties closing up non-essential stores.  First thing to close was liquor stores.  They officially close Tuesday.  Here is the line today.  Ironically, if you're waiting in that line to get alcohol, you could probably use some time away from it.

For sure! But I have plenty in stock, lol.

I find it interesting that all these folks will still gather in groups like this for something that is not needed. Food sure, but why risk it just so you can have a gin and tonic.

We were ones that didn't go to the stores and get things....

We are running low on hand soap....glad we have a detail cabinet full of IPA pints...looks like they are going to be mixed with water to make our own cleaner....

LOL not really but you know what I am saying.

I'm not participating either.  I grabbed a few extra things just incase the crazies don't give up and keep buying up lifetime supplies of things.  My grocery bill is usually $150 a week or so.  It was $200 this week.  Not a big jump.

Our Governor declared a statewide emergency this afternoon.  Ordered the closing of all non-essential businesses for two weeks.  Not really a big deal to me.  My gym officially closed today.  That's kind of a bummer but since I don't trust all the members will do their part, I had decided to workout strictly at home for the next few weeks anyway.  The PA Turnpike will stop accepting cash tonight at 8pm and will bill you based on your license plate.  What a crazy time.

I fully expect shelves will continue to be stocked and those who bought a lifetime supply will not need to go back out and buy more.  If you can squeeze by for a week, I think you'll be fine.  We were a few days late to the party so we missed out on everything people are hoarding, too.

Agreed. Think of the effect hording toilet paper is having on that supply chain. First, people wiped out the retail shelves. This inventory was quickly replaced by inventory from local warehouses - which was promptly wiped out again. This repeated itself all the way back through regional warehouses and finally to the factories. But now people have a 2 year supply squirreled away at home. But the factories go on emergency overtime to refill the now empty supply chain. Once they manage to fill it back up, nobody buys anything for 2 years because of what's in their closets. Now you shut the factories down and lay good people off. Just plain stupid.

Maybe we need a stimulous package for laxative manufacturers?

Gun shops are all staying open.  The catch, the PICS (PA Instant Check Systems) is down so no background checks which means no gun sales.  And, pretty much sold out of all ammo.  Lucky for me I'm also not one of those crazy people that but up truck loads of ammo at every sign of a crisis.  I bought enough for a little target shooting, enough to install confidence in the new gun and make sure it cycles rounds properly, and some hollow points for daily carry.  The carry part is especially important in times like this where people are acting foolish and out of their minds.

Why do people think they need a 2 year supply of toilet paper anyway?

I read an article over the weekend about the thought process of this; so take it with a grain of salt.
- It was a multi step piece on it by people with alphabet soup after their names, so you know it has to be true.. :slow:

The thought process of I don't know what to do, so I will get the biggest thing I can see EG: 18 mega rolls of paper towel and 36 double mega rolls of do not fit on the holder is what people pick up.

The next guy came in not knowing what to do, saw the guy with a pile of PT & TP in a cart, and the reaction part of his brain told him to be doing the same thing.
- It works for running away from a Bison, must be good for TP.

It then extended to bottled water and around here the pasta isle that is normally full had only no cook - bake lasagna and gluten free as the only pasta options.
- Empty isles around here on Sat.

At our butcher on Sat ( normal day for us ) had 20 people at the counter ahead of us; where it is normally 3 people.  It was mayhem.

My parents are in FL, on SAt they said the stores were normal, nobody was panic shopping.  I guess that is what happens when most people survived the great depression..

My coworkers went from no big deal to tinfoil hat time..  People just need to calm down.  There is a process working, no need to stab someone with a broken bottle for TP..

I have not had time to check out the gun stores around here; so I don't know how bad they look.  Probably the same thing as 2000 and 2008..
I reload so depending on where I am with a given caliber, I can have 200 rounds or over 1,000 rounds depending on the last time I was cranking the handle on that cal.

PA had it's first Covid19 death today.  It was in the next county over from us.

My brother in law works as a manager at the big name grocery store chain here.  He said the toilet paper thing was because a lot of it comes from China and people were afraid they wouldn't be able to keep getting it.  Not sure how true or factual that is.  Just relaying what I heard.

So the first PA death was actually the brother to the first person to die in NJ, his sister.  Two hours after he passed, their mother passed away.  Four other family members are in critical condition.  They all got it at a family reunion in NJ.  19 other family members are being tested.

Oh, and we literally just got shut down as I sit here.  The whole state is shut down to all non life sustaining businesses.

Got the rest of the home gym today.  Justin in time.

I have quite a bit of free time on my hands right now.  Put together the rest of the home gym today so that's fully functioning now.  I still need to finish the other side of the basement and then move it all over there but I'm uneasy about spending the money on anything else until this blows over.

We currently have 268 cases, 1 death.  There have been zero cases reported in my county so far.  It's only a matter of time.

Our (New York State) Governor just ordered all non-essential businesses to have 100 percent of their employees work remotely. I'm pretty sure a Toyota dealership will be considered non-essential. They haven't told us yet, but i would expect we'll be shut down next week. Oh well, time to work on home projects.

PS: Funny thing, but we sold 7 new cars & trucks in the last 2 days. Go figure.

IL just did the same things with Shelter in place today, starting tomorrow.
We had restaurants & bars closed last Sunday.

My coworkers in CA, said the dealerships are still open, as are mechanics and drive throughs ( and the typical businesses ) and Amazon is still delivering.
- You can get a Starbucks coffee and pickup McD on your way to Target to make it back home to get your Amazon box off the stoop.

I don't know what IL is going to do with the other businesses or if they are going to mirror CA.

Dealerships are closed but everything else is basically how you described.  Amazon has temporarily stopped taking orders from sellers that aren't considered essential goods.  They will still ship what they have though.

I've never been a big fan of him. He's waaay too far left for me. Truth be told though, he's doing a pretty good job of leading the state in a very tough time. Trouble is, he'll be taking control of things now that he'll never relinquish when this thing passes.

Oh, and don't forget, everything he's doing is aimed at setting him up for a presidential bid the next time around.

Just looked at an official copy of the businesses considered "essential" in New York State and thus able to remain open. Auto Repair Facilities are on the list.  I'm not sure if I'm excited or not. On the plus side I can continue to go to work and bring home a paycheck. On the minus side, I can continue to go out and risk exposing myself.  :moody:

Restaurants for delivery or takeout only.

Pretty much the same as the week prior, but the dry cleaner is closed now... :dunno:

My boss decided 3 days has been enough.  We do a lot of work in New Jersey and New Jersey hasn't stopped any construction so he is sending us in to the state that has the second most positive cases to work around other construction workers who are all working shoulder to shoulder with each other.  I'm not happy about it.  I want to work but I also think two weeks of caution can go a long way in figuring out who has it and who doesn't and getting those people either the proper care or quarantining them.  I don't trust my coworkers either who I have to share a truck with for a few hours.  I'm in rough shape and coughing like crazy because of the mishap at my house the other day so I am going to be the center of attention.  We have 5 employees.  Our boss is going to F around and we are all going to get sick right around the same time they're going to allow us to go back to work normally.

Things are getting more and more tightened down around here. The "preppers" have hit all the stores with a second wave of Panic buying. It's pretty crappy when my SIL can't get Gluten-free food because folks are buying it when they don't need it.

Work is going to be the next concern, the Wife has already been asked to extend her maternity leave. My boss is indicating that he wants me to burn some Vacay by taking Fridays off for the next 4-5 weeks. I haven't agreed to it just yet.

What kind of impact does her extending her maternity leave have on her?  Where do they take that extra time from?  Vacation and personal days?

What does that one day per week achieve?

I didn't really want to do it but after one of my guys called me concerned about the situation, I made a few more calls to other guys and it was unanimous so I called the boss.  I expressed our concerns, in addition to the fact that I'm the only one in a county that's not on a stay at home order, and being the good guy that he is, he quickly changed his mind.  We are no longer working.

And just to clarify, my cough is not (to my knowledge) a result of COVID19.  It's a product of exercise induced asthma from pushing myself to hard and I'm sure some is smoke inhalation.

Extending Mat leave has two main impacts. One, is her sanity. With Ollie, she was DONE at 8 months of Mat leave. It's a bit worse this time with two kids. She like work and her job. Two, is income. She only get's about 30% of her salary while on Mat Leave, It's a considerable hit to the household income. We planned for 7 months and it may turn into 9.

For me, taking a day off a week improves my margin by 20% on the bottom line. 90% of my role is not billable to a client or revenue generating, due to how we have my role budgeted. It still costs the company the same amount, as they have to pay me, but it looks way better on the books Margin wise.

Wow.  Standard maternity leave here is 8 weeks.  For Cassie, when the time comes she gets 8 weeks at full pay and then either an additional 2 weeks at full pay or an additional 4 weeks at half pay.

In Canada, the first 12 weeks are Maternity leave and can only be taken by the mother (unless there are special circumstances). After that, it paternity leave and either parent can take the rest of the time, up to 52 weeks. It’s up to 55% pay, but maxes out at a specific dollar value. You can actually take up to 18 months if you like, but it’s at a reduced pay rate.

This is all part of our government run “employment services”.  Same basic system/process if we apply for employment insurance benefits.

For us yes, they cap the pay for the program, so it’s like $455 max a week or something like that and they tax it like regular income.

So it's 30% or about $455, whichever is lowest?  That sounds like our unemployment system.  Regardless of what you make, you get a certain percentage but you can't make more than $560.  But then they tax it 0% or 10% at the time of payment but depending on your tax bracket, you have to pay the rest of the taxes at income tax time.  So needless to say I don't get much back at tax time because I still owe around 15% or so of what I made on unemployment.  But I digress.

it's 55% of your income to a max of $455 per week (I'm going off memory, so the numbers might be slightly different). It is taxed at your rate of income while on Mat leave. So, you gotta save some pennies for the tax man, because if you made more before or after being on Mat leave, they want a piece of that because your total income for the year will be higher than the tax bracket while on Mat leave.

It's a OK system and nice when your employer tops up.

Yay, they just announced that everyone in our company will be reduced by 20% pay and hours.

Hopefully it stops there, but I don’t think it will.

As bad as that sounds, at least you still have a job. Hang in there and it will get better.

We’ll be fine for sure, but this will put a screeching halt to getting the lift done on the truck this summer and our planned deck re-build. We certainly are better off than others.

I figured it was coming, our CEO doesn’t want to lay anyone off and that means everyone has to take a hit. I’m all for that approach.

It is better than collecting unemployment benefits.. :dunno:

I would love it if our company started this process, but they are going to be binary.  Full hours then laid off.

The weekend of 13-MAR, we called off all major projects this year.
I think this line of thinking is going to be somewhat wide spread, hitting the economy as the year goes on..

After calling off the NJ job, my boss called me the very next morning and said the contractor was really pushing to have us come in and said he had 6 or 7 other subs from PA there too.  My boss asked me how I was doing (I still have a minor but steadily improving cough) and asked if I could go and who else could go.  I didn't even ask the other guys.  I just told him no one.  It kind of pissed me off.  Its also really shitty on the contractors part to try to push us to come out given everything going on.  And as of about 45 minutes ago Trump announced that he is considering a quarantine of major hot zones which include the entire states of NY, NJ and Ct.

Our county has finally been placed on a Stay At Home order.  Which basically means nothing.  It's like their way of saying, "No, we really mean it now!" We can still go to any of the stores still open and we can still go out for exercise like hiking and walking.  The current orders have been extended from April 6th, to the 30th and now they are saying indefinitely.

I did just see new tests are rolling out.  Instead of days to weeks, there are two new tests that take 45 minutes and the other 5 minutes.  So watch for a jump in numbers real soon.

Well, that job I kept saying no to is happening.  I got a call from the boss man today.  The main contractor is pushing to get it done.  They said if everything on site isn't finished then payment to them gets withheld.  And it has to be done by Monday.  It's not a huge job.  So weather permitting, we can do it in two days.  I just can't help thinking that with everything going on, exceptions can't be made if a contractor feels it isunsafe for them to do their job.  Especially on our end since the only thing we have to do is install 6 decorative crosswalks.

Scheduled to return to work Monday, weather permitting.  Minus one guy who refuses to come back, yet.

Went to the grocery store the other day, they started doing the one way isles.  What a cluster Fk.  And nobody though to turn off the damn automated robot that patrols the store.  They have a single line to check out that wraps all the way around the store.  It was awful.  And now they are limiting how many people can enter the store at a time so there's a line outside to get in.

Wow, that's just a little too creepy for me. Up here we have Wegman's Food Markets (which is headquartered here) and they consistently rank as the best supermarket chain in the country. Their theory is to provide the best possible customer service by having the best possible employees. They'd probably laugh at that thing.

There are Wegmans around here as well.  I actually dont like their stores at all.  In our area, they attract a certain type of people.  The type of people who think they're better than you.  They make it known as they prance around the store with total disregard to you being there.  It probably has a little to do with their location in higher end areas of the city.  Both locations are about 15 minutes apart but in different cities.  Each in ritzier areas of their respective city.

Interesting. I've heard that about Wegman's stores in other areas. Here in Rochester where they started, we're all kind of spoiled and used to them. That explains why normal folks like me shop there all the time. Truth be told, I thought all supermarkets were like Wegman's until I started traveling around the country. Man, Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly, and all the rest are like Wegman's 20 years ago!

So just to elaborate a little because I have nothing better to do right now.  Besides the people being rude, there are things I do not like about the store itself.  The cafe area looks great and prepared food is pretty good.  But the rest of the store seems to be lacking and has a very warehouse-like feel go it.  Which is fine really, just feels weird.  That's not really a pro or con.  But half of the floor is a weird real tile floor where the grout is recessed deeper than the tile so the shopping cart wheels drop down in to each grout every 6 inches and you feel like your teeth are going to rattle out of your head as it resonates through the cart.  Also, I get road rage (isle rage?) when I'm at the supermarket because of the way people blow through the ends of the isles and will smash in to you and look at you like it was your fault.  Well, that easily quadruples at Wegmans because of the customers that shop there around here but also the isle designs.  Instead of single long runs from one end to the other, each isle is intersected by perpendicular isles twice in the middle.  So like a tic tac toe board.  They need traffic lights in each isle.

This has been a long supermarket rant.  I'm done now.

That's exactly it.  Good and bad.  But honestly, I think everyone is starting to feel the same.  They want things open back up.  It's almost like, yeah, we get it.  Take precautions, be smart, make good decisions but the economy can only handle so much.  And it's getting increasingly more difficult to even get to the store.  Every week there are new, tighter regulations.

Not to rip into you, I get the idea that you are more rural where you are at vs JP or myself.

With that as the basis, we do not have this around the metro area here ( yet ? ).
They just put in the counting of people EG: in the HD the other week.  Before that it was a free for all ( could enter through the contractor exit ).

Our super markets are not this bad, but they have done the directions on the floor and counting people.

We are currently 4th in the country in the amount of cases.  Our governor is an idiot.  Unfortunately we need to cater to the assholes that can't take things serious and play nice with others.  So you have to make rules for them that everyone has to follow.  You shouldn't need all of these rules but if you do t make rules, then the inconsiderate morons that feel rules don't apply to them won't follow them and you can't enforce them.  In our part of the state we are very close to New York and New Jersey.  I am also located in the Poconos mountains region which is where a lot of those out of state people have second homes.  There is a lot of commuters in our county and neighboring counties.  Those neighboring counties are leading the count in our state with Covid19 cases.  My specific county actually isn't bad but all of the surrounding counties are pretty bad.

Everything our supermarket is doing is now mandated.  One way isles, number of customers at a time, some kind of face covering inside any public building/business or you will be turned away at the door.  People have been fined for just being out driving around.  A woman was stopped for something unrelated like a taillight or headlight and issued a citation.  Walmarts and Targets are blocking sections of the store that are deemed non-essential goods.  Gun stores are allowing customers by appointment only and you have to know what you want before you go.  No browsing.  Liquor stores are closed however starting sometimes this week they are reopening for curbside pick up.

In my county, the Sheriffs have been instructed not to interact with anyone, including traffic stops, moving violations etc.  They are only supposed to engaged on any domestic issue etc.  You have to be going 10 over to get stopped right now.

My county only has 9 confirmed cases and 1 death.  There are only 66k people in this county....next county over is Fort Worth (Tarrant Co), it has over 2.7m people in it.    Only 90 cases being reported.

The more I read and hear through the cracks....its starting to sound more like a scam then anything else.

How is that no one is dying of cancer, heart attack etc all of a sudden and only COVID19?   Answer.   Money.   Hospitals get more money if they list CV19 as the cause of death and they get way more if a ventilator is used.

We have 64,000 people in our county which for what it's worth is 387 square miles.  Similar population to yours.  My understanding is that it's not as prevalent in warmer climates.

Any cop around here will tell you they won't stop you for anything less than 10 over the limit.

The messed up thing about the death count is, regardless of what you die from, they are being told to classify it as Covid19.  Even if you have Covid19 but get hit by a car they will file it under Covid19 death.  There's a lot of inflated numbers for the death count.  On the flip side, the number of reported people who have it is extremely low.  It only factors those confirmed, those tested.  It doesn't count the other people who live with you, that get quarantined with you, that likely have it but don't get tested.  I would bet the number of cases would be doubled if not tripled, possibly even quadrupled if everyone was tested.  When you factor those two sets of numbers, cases:deaths, the death rate would be way way lower.

So not sure I mentioned it but Cassie's sister works at the hospital.  All of her patients are Covid19 patients.  She now has a fever and sore throat.  She got tested.  She got her results yesterday and is negative. Though apparently that doesn't mean a whole lot since false negatives are common.  She can't return to work until she is fever free for 72 hours.

And something I find funny.  I don't know if anyone here has Verizon Wireless for their cell phone.  I do.  They sent me a text last month and just now.  Their way of helping is to give 15GB of additional data at no cost.  That's mighty helpful as I am stuck at home on wifi.

That's the scary thing about catching any kind of illness that gives you a fever, causes you to cough or sneeze these days. The first thing everyone thinks is that you've got COVID-19. Stella gives me the stink eye every time I sneeze these days. (Just allergies.) Hopefully, she's just got something "simple." Scary though.

I no longer except any of this is for the good of the people but rather for the good of politicians.

I 100% agree with you there!   :yoda:

Things are out of hand now.  I can't get steaks.  I can do without toilet paper.  But a meat shortage?  Unacceptable!...<snip>...

I suspect this is due to the same problem as toilet paper, the media hypes something and then the race is on.
People are gullible, and this is the reaction to it.

I don't know if things are for the good of politicians, but I can say this crop, that spent millions of dollars asking to lead xyz, are not leading.
I am sick hearing about how this is not normal.
They were not elected to do the job only under specific circumstances; they were elected to do the job.
I keep wondering when we are going to call the gov of IL non essential and send him home without pay.  He just does the same thing as CA the day after CA does it.  Why do we need that support and security staff for a guy to say ditto..

Supposedly it is because the meat manufacturing plants arent running at capacity because of sick employees.  Or something along those lines, Covid19 related.  I think I read 18% of Wendy's have stopped serving hamburger because they can't get them.  Trump said he would take care of it.  Haha, not sure what that means.  If it's that simple, then there's an issue outside of Covid19.  And then there are reports that meat prices are going to be higher than normal to too it off.

I just don't believe the numbers that are coming in anymore.  Pennsylvania's numbers are still climbing and setting new daily records, so they say.

...<snip'>...I think I read 18% of Wendy's have stopped serving hamburger because they can't get them.  ...<snip'>...

That is correct, but it is because the do not use any meat that has been frozen.

Those 1,000 stores are far enough away from beef now, that it would have to be frozen or shipped via air which would drive the costs up.  They could get meat, it would be cost prohibitive.
- The other 4,000+ locations are still processing as normal.

I would guess your store does not have an issue using meat that was frozen at one time.

I have nothing other than supposition to base it on, I would guess the empty shelves are caused by Tyson running his mouth in the full page ad he bought in 3 newspapers.
Tyson is tossing a rock back at politicians blaming his locations being in the line of infections somewhere..

I believe the numbers, but here is the rub.

1. Is the new pos test results rate climbing at the same rate as  testing capacity us climbing.
If 20% testing capacity is added, should there be any shock that the rate of confirmed cases increases by 20%.

NYC started presenting the numbers as new cases, total cases, total in hospital today and total released from the hospital and dead.  It was easy to see how many where new cases and told to stay at home.

Chicago ran around with their hair on fire, turned McCormick convention center into a field hospital and had less than 50 people there..  Fun fact that is over 13 days in APR.
Our Trust fund brat running the state and the police board member playing the part of Mayor of Chicago spent 60+ Million to treat < 50 people...

Seems everyone is against our governor now.  Other state politicians are encouraging businesses to open against the Governor's orders.  Counties have written letters to the Governor informing him of their intent.  He is threatening to revoke state licenses.

We did just have our lowest reported numbers to date.  543 I believe.  That's progress.  It's been 1300 almost everyday prior.

This is the problem with a lot of states, not reporting what is actually going on.
PA got to where they need to be, there was not an overload of the healthcare system and they are still closed.

Is any Gov thinking of how they are going to pay for things when they have these stats ?

I don't know if they are expecting zero to happen 1st.  They might want to implement the opening plan before they don't have businesses to open.

Oh the best part is that Governor Wolf held an angry press conference yesterday and thought it appropriate to call all of the business owners that are considering opening against his orders, "cowards." The audacity of that man.

You could have our clown (Cuomo) who's using this whole thing as practice for him running for President in 2024. Of course he denies it.   :dunno:

BTW, he plans to have the federal government bail him out of the 8 billion dollar (before the virus) hole he dug us.   :funny:

You can't escape that clown on TV.  He's part of the reason I don't watch the news or conferences.  I liked the guy at first.  That quickly wore off.

On a side note, has their ever been a president so blatantly disrespected by the people of this country?

Only 8B ??? NY is running a pretty tight ship.

IL was 9B in unpaid bills when Blago was carted off to jail.  It has to be 10B+ by now... :wow:
- The trustafarian is looking for federal money to shore up the state pension that is about to run out of money...

For the next three or more weeks, my job location is going to be at the PNC Bank Performing Arts Center in New Jersey.  It just so happens to be one of New Jersey's Covid19 testing locations.

It's a drive thru location.  So basically a tent set up in the parking lot.  There is over a mile of traffic control, half of which extends out on to the Garden State Expressway.  What appears to be half of the NJ state police are here in unmarked SUVs.  I think NJ is leading the country in all negative statistics regarding Covid19 so it's a pretty big deal.

Perfect.  An employee on site who works for the company that subbed us, tested positive yesterday for Covid19.  They apparently knew at 2pm yesterday and decided to keep it to themselves until today when nobody from that company showed up.

Welp, back to work.

And this is how you hold an impromptu meeting about it.  Masks pulled down or half removed while they stand within arms reach of each other.  Makes sense.  (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200515/79a8d9fe1495decb161940ffac3a3729.jpg)
