Sooner you do it the better.  Providing you want to do it that is.  You could get ghosting of the paint.  Stop covering up that beautiful paint.

I think this one or a black one would look subtle.

Seriously, I would get a wrap or decal guy to put them on for a pack of beer. They aren't hard to do, but you'll kick yourself if they are crooked or have a bubble in them.

That is a much better looking decal.  I think I probably wouldn't replace it with anything but you can't go wrong with the one in the picture.

Here is the fun part, you already OPT Gloss Coated the truck...

You would have to:
Remove the existing FX4 decal
Do a fair amount of polishing in that area to remove the Gloss Coat on the paint.
Apply the new decal
Gloss Coat the rear area again.

If you do not remove the Gloss Coat the new decal might not stick the best ( assuming it is not the exact same size and you nail the placement ) and it could start to peel off down the road and there will be other areas that have no gloss coat on it around the decal.

Sorry to be the party pooper about the new decal...

You are right, I am Opti-Coated...so I will suffer through the next 1.5 years with these and when i am ready to polish off the OC and start over i will consider getting some new decals.

This could yield ghosting on the paint for the outline of the old decal.

I agree with the opinion up the thread : Stop covering up that beautiful paint.

Mask off a rectangle around the factory decals with 2; 2" paint tape lines.

Remove the decals, paint correcting then pull the 1st 2" paint line off, enlarging the rectangle around the decal.

Polish the larger rectangle , working on to the OPT Gloss Coat section exposed by removing the 1st tape line then re apply OPT Gloss Coat.

Remove the 2nd tape line all done.

If you are worried about the tape not coming off nice, put down the 1st 2" tape line then apply 3M knife tape to it and overlap the 2nd 2" tape line.
Use the knife tape to remove the 2nd tape line.
- Take a look at youtube for body wrap knife tape to get a better idea on how it works and how you need to pull the tab back on the knife tape.

What he said.

I started replying with a similar idea and stopped because I am often told I'm too opinionated and often come across as an a-hole (actually I'm told I'm an a-hole because I'm opinionated.   semantics...) so I didn't want to push my idea/opinion.

I'd remove the decal now.  I like no decal at all.  Sooner the better for the paint.  Also, that huge decal right next to that massive taillight (especially both being red) creates a cluttery look.

For what it's worth, my favorite thing about the new body style is the long overdue update to the tail lights.  Go back and look at the tail lights on the last gen.  So outdated they look out of place.

Back to the topic at hand.  It would be really simple to remove the decal, do a little polishing and reapply the coating to that area.  It will cost you nothing and you will still have the option to update the decal in the future whenever you want.  If I was dead set on having a decal there, I would come up with a custom decal that was one-off and no one else had.  It doesn't have to be tied to the model or trim of the truck.
