Thanks fellas...this was a real struggle and one me and the family had to have a sit down for.

Things are going to be lean around here for awhile.   I have never bought anything this expensive but I had some equity thanks to the Jeep that was in the F150 and a good deal (a favor really) by the dealer.  They gave me what I needed for my trade...and gave me just a hair over A Plan pricing which is 2K below X Plan on a tricked out Lariat.   I have every option on a Platinum except massage seats and adaptive steering.

6.7 Powerstroke with 6 sp tranny on a 3.55 rear end.

It is ramen noodles for the next 4 years in our house.

So what triggered it? couldn't stand to drive around a truck that assaulted a mailbox?

Are you going to stay away from the mail box this time ?

 :redneck:

Sorry I could not resist.  Congrats on the new purchase.

Ouch.  What triggered it was nothing able to safely put family in the F150 and tow our new camper.  Was a tad over weight.

4 year loan?

I'm over here like I wonder if someone will let me refinance my truck over 120 months?

Fair enough, I think you bought a camper a bit too big, so you wold have to get back into a F250 ;)

Seriously, when I went to the F150 after the Jeep, we didn't own a camper and there were Zero plans to do it.   Then when the kids said they wanted it again, i looked for smaller campers...but momma said hell no to a 24fter with a murphy bed in it.   So we looked at the weights carefully and I knew the 29BH we bought had a max GVWR of 8500 which is well within the limits of the F150, what i didn't factor in was the length,   its 34.6 feet long, ball to bumper.  That is the problem.

Per the Cat Scales, my loaded pin is 1060 lbs and the camper loaded light is 8000.

I was only left around 400lbs +/- 20 of cargo.   Which would be like one Yeti full of Miller Lite and diet coke.   :)

Came out of Lowes to this.

4 ft scratch down both doors.  I raised hell with GM he said go f yourself basically.  I will be sending a note to Lowes.

I came home QD'D to see how bad....didnt bother to take photos went right to work.  hyper polish on green pad....then 1 pass with hyper polish on white pad.  Then menzerna on red finish...then options spray wax.

Ugh.   (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181025/5464486cc7cf4826596b1b6957a4d946.jpg)

Yeah, that's up there for sure. If you just had really short hauls and kept the speeds down, I'm sure you could pull it off.

Honestly though, a F150 just can't pull weight as comfy as a SD. Just can't.

Sorry to hear about the damage already, thats a piss off.

So not one cart but two carts. How does that even happen?

Get the security footage.  I'll book a flight.  We'll bust some heads.

It's actually rare to see that around Lowe's.  At least around here.  Everyone is usually pretty considerate and like minded.  Walmart now... You have to search high and low for a parking spot that doesn't have a car in it already.  There are more carts in parking spots than cars.

I got it all fixed, its not factory perfect, but I used my halogen work light and you know the rule...you can live and die by that light.  You cannot see what is left with a sun gun or in direct sunlight but they are about 10% visible with the halogen work lights.

So now the plan is.   Taking the truck tomorrow to get Line-X Platinum with color match sprayed in, then on Sat. I am going to wash, clay (nano skin) Polish and fine polish the truck and put a layer of Opti-Coat on.  The goal is to get it done in 1 day, not going to worry about the wheels.

this truck was not dealer prepped for delivery but it has been lot washed and it does have the dealer installed swirles on the piano black door panels...I may not get to those yet.   My garage is a tad bit of a mess so I gotta clean that up and make ready for a 250 to work on.

My plan is Optimum Spray Polish on a White Pad, then hit it with Menzerna Super Fine 4500 (no filler) then hit surface with Optimum Paint Prep then the Opti-Coat.

And yes, I plan on doing the roof even though I have the pano sunroof.  Figured get it done and out of the way.  I hate the roof.

I will say, the feel of the two doors I fixed with the process above using the Optimum Spray was feels amazing.  So slick and clean feeling.

Ok carry on.   I gots shit to plan for.   LOL .

You do realize that if it was any of us that got our brandy new truck hit, there would have been dented sheet metal involved.

Love the bed liner! I think Line-X is king with there new products. My truck has a dealer "Ultra Liner" and even under a tonneau cover it's fading...

I'm looking forward to some paint correction pics!

Debating putting another Peragon on this truck.  Sold mine to a buddy for 500...wasn't as lucky at Kitzy on getting a free one.

I looked at the roll n lock's yesterday at the Linex dealer...at 1600 bucks hard to justify right now.   I am pretty damn poor.  My LineX was 919.00

Letting it warm up a little before I start on the truck.   I hope it doesn't take all day.   My plan changed a little, I think I am just going to clay the surface and hit the entire truck with Menzerna SuperFine 440 then opti-coat.  Not sure if Optimum Hyper Polish has filler in it.  Need to research that real quick.

You need to start putting pictures of dead deer on your front fender like the WWII fighter pilots did for each kill. Oh wait, your fender won't be big enough!

Were those shameless shots after opticoating it ?
- that was quick if you got it done and let a cure time hit before taking it to fueling.

I have been working more on the paint on the NAV.  I got the hood done ( less 2 marks the Mrs cannot see ), front fenders ( all 3 have PL on them ) and the roof I got the marks out where the rack was on it and Opticoated the roof yesterday at lunch time.
- Had all the work one, tore up a few LC Org pads and trashed a 3.25" Megs MF cutting pad on the swirl killer mini.

BTW : I have been trying out the griot's garage fast correcting cream on this go around.
- The Nav was a mess when I got it.  The previous owners treated it like a heroin addict treats their central nervous system.

The Fast correcting cream is not a severe defects ( as they state )product but it is a nice step between Opt Hyper Compound and Hyper Polish.
- Griot should try Hyper Compound to understand what is for severe defects

The nice thing about fast correcting cream is after 3 passes at 6 on the flex, 'medium pressure' and a normal ( slow ) pace then 2 more passes only with the weight of the machine a bit faster; it really finished out nice.
I am in the 50s with low humidity ( when I did the work ) and could get 5 passes out of a 2x2 area.
Removal was nice.  Low dusting from it and the Hyper Polish on LC White then Pro Polish on blue were real easy.

Just a bit of OT info I found out this week.

CRAP !!! what are we doing posting about detailing ????

It seemed pretty quick from correction to OC to the shots.
- I only took a quick look of the shameless shots, and thought it was at a station while you were fueling the truck. On further inspection it was the garage. :dope:

I usually leave the truck alone for a few hours after applying OC.   I really like to let it sit for 24 hours, but that is not required.
- Hell the guys in NJ wash, iron process, correct, apply OC and then clear paint wrap in a single day.
