Title: Speed Seal Beading Action
Post by: Obsessive Detail on May 05, 2015, 09:41:12 PM
Here is a video from last night of Speed Seal in action.  It was pouring down rain and we didn't even have to use our wipers.  This stuff is crazy easy to use and so far the results have been amazing.  An 8 ounce bottle dilutes to make 32 ounces of product.

This product intrigues me.   I may have to pick it up.  I love OptiSeal on my windshield.   This product just looks so Damn easy.   How long is it realistically supposed to last?

I've heard of some people getting at least 3 months out of it on some of the detailing forums.

Justin.....I have a spare Hyper dressing bottle that shows 3:1.  The bottle of product seems mall and the megs bottle seems big so is this still the same ratios? Will this work?

That looks like a 32 oz bottle. You will pour all the product into the bottle and the rest with water. Speed Seal is 8 oz and dilutes to make 32 oz.

Yeah it goes a long way.  Set your sprayer so you have a nice wide mist.

Mine came today.   A little earlier than expected.   Thanks,  Justin.

Calling for rain Saturday so it may have to wait for me.   I may get a chance to wash on Sunday though.   Any issues with OptiSeal being two weeks old on the paint?

Any issues with applying over a normal polymer sealant, like Menzerna Powerlock?

No, it will bond fine to pretty much any sealant or wax.

I just pulled the jeep out and washed the windshield and treated that...so hopefully I will see a difference in this rain we have.

Gip, you guys getting killed down there too?   Our lakes are filling up and releasing water now.  Lake Grapevine went from 15 ft down to 8ft up in 2 weeks.

So you got the paint wet and misted the product on, then used a good stream to activate the product correct?  If so, did you see how it instantly starts to bead?

Justin, my jeep needs a proper bath but I did get the foam gun out and wash the windshield only, then washed off, sprayed with product then rinsed it off.

It was like sheeting on the glass since it is so vertical.   Rain is on the way so a good test.

Will the wipers reduce the amount of time it works?

yes using the wipers will reduce the durability. That is what happens with Opti glass too. We barely use ours anymore.

Not as bad as you have been, but more than enough. The South side of town has been getting killed.  Flooding in places that don't usually flood.  All the Bayous are full.

How is this stuff for making it easy to get bugs off?

I think it makes it a lot easier to get bugs off.  It pretty much works like a typical sealant, but easier to use.

Thanks Justin,

I will be on the road over the next few weeks, but put together an order when I return.

Enjoy the long weekend.

No "sweeeeet"  no care!

Stuff looks awesome.   My goal is to try to wash my truck before I leave for Tennessee August 1st.  It's been MONTHS!   I really want to try this.

So I washed my truck this weekend.   I didn't go crazy.   I'm sure it needs a clay worse than bad.   But I tried the speed seal out.   Felt like I used a ton of it.   The next morning it rained but I didn't experience anything even close to what Jason experience.   I'm sure his vertical jeep windshield helps.   However,  opti seal seemed to work better.

I hardly ever use very much product, maybe a little over an ounce. All that you have to do is just mist it on where it is covering the surface and you are good to go.

I like Opti Seal, but to me Speed Seal is so much easier and quicker to use.  Our windshield also beads like crazy and we hardly ever use our wipers, maybe with your Jeep is sheeting from the difference angle of the windshield.

How would this perform going over a normal wax or sealant?

I drove it in the rain.  I noticed a difference,  don't get me wrong.   It just didn't look like yours and I didn't find it any better than opti seal.
