Title: Zurich Shield
Post by: Robby32 on November 02, 2010, 07:21:37 PM
Any body run across this stuff?
Can you/should wax over it? Layers?
If you get some marks can you buff them out (like with M205)?

What are your experiences with it?

They put it on my new GMC Sierra - it is really slick and shiny . They put it on since they would give me a reduced payment with it on as opposed to leaving it off. I took the lower payment.

Zurich web site no help - only if you want to make a claim - no info.

I hate to say it, but most of that dealer applied stuff is pretty much junk. Well, junk from a customer standpoint. From a dealer standpoint it's pure profit in a bottle. Don't worry, it won't last long anyway and you'll be able to treat your paint like any other vehicle.

BTW, last year a friend of mine was raving about how he got Ziebardt Diamond Gloss applied to his new truck and he'd never have to wash or wax it - ever. This past summer he was asking me to detail it. Enough said?

At least this did not cost me anything and actually reduced my payments.

is this like a 3M wrap or a chemical?

RR - I think it is a chemical because they also treat the interior. I assumed that it was a spray on treatment.

Will call the sales people today and see if I can get some info.

RR Thanks for the link - the claims for the windshield and how it works sound like what they put on the paint works in a similar way.

They gave me a kit of some 12oz bottles that can be used for touch up etc.

Included are -
Paint Renewer
Vinyl/Leather Renewer
Car Wash Concentrate
Interior Cleaner
Window Cleaner

Might be interesting to take one panel of the vehicle and use your "regular" stuff on it and leave the rest with the Zurich stuff. Great head to head testing opportunity here!

TS - good idea - I talked with the salesman and he said do what you normally do it won't hurt and may make it look even better.

I'm going to restrain myself and not offer why your regular stuff might even make it look better. Awesome truck though!

Thanks TS - I could get some additional protection. The weather will have to work it's way through a few layers to get to the clear coat.   :hp:  It is a great truck really enjoying it.

planning on putting on -

1- Wet Obsession

let it cure

2- Otpi - Seal

Touch up with

M135 or M Ultimate Quick Wax

Thinking about doing this on the drivers side and leaving the right side with just the Zurich as a test.

Personally, I love the way WO looks, but it just doesn't last. Great for show cars though!

TS - I think you are correct on the WO - That is why I was planning to put Opti-Seal on it in a few days. I did the drivers side and will see if I can spot the line when we get some day light.

Had a couple of bugs on the front - the Zurich is so slick that they wiped right off with a spritz of M34. Must be a lot of silicone in it.
