I’m a Program Director at a tech company that sells Parking systems and other parking solutions. Basically I’m a Project Manager that sits on the Executive Team. I handle our more complex projects and difficult clients that need more attention than usual. Multi year type projects.

I also get assigned to internal initiatives or projects that need a lot of coordination.

Interesting. So is that like trying to figure out how to maximize and make efficient parking areas?  Like layout and traffic flow?  Entry and exit?  Stuff like that?  Or am I way off base here?

We have a pretty wide offering of stuff. We manufacture and sell gated systems, like where you drive to a garage, push a button and take a ticket. You pay at a station or the exit to get out. We also manufacture and sell “on street” meters. The larger ones that you pay at on open surface lots.

Then the other side of it is permits and enforcement. So a permit would be a acces tag that you buy from a garage or Lot operator to get access to parking lot for a extended period of time. Think like getting a parking permit to park at the college for a term. We also do license plate recognition systems (fixed or mobile) to allow entry to garages or just for enforcement. We have devices and a back end for citations. So our customers can give you a parking ticket and have a way to collect your address and info based on plate number (we connect to DMVs in over 40 states.

Last piece is collections. We have a collection department. Used mostly by our municipal and college customers.

I was referring to the gated entries when I said entry and exit.  We have a lot of toll by plate systems popping up.  Mainly on bridges.  The state is trying to implement another 8 or so bridge tolls using this system.  Pennsylvania will tax and toll you to death.  Getting off topic but Philadelphia even implemented a Soda Tax.  A 1.5 cent per ounce tax on sugary beverages.
