What on God's Earth is that smell???

Sunday started out normal.  Went a few places throughout the course of the day.  Came home and parked for a while.  Went to put my truck in the garage for the night and it smells like complete trash.  Literally. Like a garbage truck full up on trash.  Seema to come through the vents but the entire truck cab smells and with the windows down in our 1100 sq ft garage even the garage smelled.  After a few days of it not getting better and maybe even worse I tore out the blower motor, glove box and cabin filter.  Couldn't find anything.  Today I removed the wipers and cowl and again nothing.  Cassie cleaned the floor mats and search high and low inside for anything to cause it.  I decided to show her the cabin filter so I pulled the glove box and then the filter.  She grabs a light and dives in.  Right to the left of the filter and up in a tiny hole... The culprit.  A dead mouse.

Had a slight odor this morning that went away almost immediately after I hit the AC.  I might open it back up and spray it again and clean it again.  It's almost 100 here today so we will see how it smells baking outside all day at our shop.

Got any PB NLD?  It kills bacteria in vents.

Funny you mention that.  When the smell first started, the following morning before work I grabbed a bottle of NLD and sprayed the vents.  Only after I was done and running late to work that I realized it was Spray and Gloss.  Haha.  Smelled great for a little bit though.

I definitely need to revisit the issue though.  After work the smell was back but not quite as bad.

I wanted to use Lysol buy didn't have any.  So I grabbed Pine Sol.  I used Pine Sol on a paper towel with needle nose plyers in the same way you would clean the barrel of your gun.  Then topped it off with leather scent.  Lots of it.

Tomorrow I think I will load it up with NLD.  Just hope I'm not missing any of the mouse in there.  Like somewhere I can't see or get to.

Poorboys Natural Look Dressing.  It's been a staple ever since I first used it.  It seems to have helped.  There's a very slight odor that annoys me but it's getting better.

Thanks, good to know. I'm looking for something that doesn't have a lot of scent to it, but would be good for this sorta thing.

well, it is a PB product so you know it is scented.  :)

It does fade, but on new cars, I try not to use it b/c I want to hold that new car smell as long as possible.  I do often clean my interior with warm water on an MF but for dead chit like this, I would use the NLD foshow.

So it was something like 110 with the heat index today.  I don't think I've ever felt my truck be so hot when I opened the door to get in.  But... No smell.
